Premiered February 2020 in Lloyd Ultan Recital Hall at the University of Minnesota by Carley Kokal, Clarinet, Ariel Detwiler, Bassoon, and Jordan Buchholtz, Piano Program Notes: This two-movement work interacts in the space between two concepts – Sought vs. Found – while not fully representing either in a significant way. The first movement is a meandering interplay between the voices, which flow between being in agreement or in contrast with one another. The second movement is a forward moving piece that passes melodies and motives from voice to voice, while not reaching any place together as an ensemble. Comments are closed.
